Net profit at Rs967.72 crore vs Rs259.38 crore (YoY)
Total Income at Rs7929.14 crore vs Rs8699.08 crore (YoY)

Emami Consolidated Q3 net profit down 27% (YoY)
Emami Ltd announced the following unaudited results for the quarter ended December 31, 2015:
Standalone
Net profit down 29.30% at Rs130.37 crore vs Rs184.41 crore (YoY)
Total Income at Rs738.04 crore vs Rs684.62 crore (YoY).

Colgate Palmolive Q3 net profit up 21.81% (YoY)
Colgate Palmolive (India) Ltd announced the following unaudited Standalone results for the quarter ended December 31, 2015:
Net profit up 21.81% at Rs159.41 crore vs Rs130.86 crore (YoY)
Total Income at Rs1025.49 crore vs Rs1005.67 crore (YoY)

Engineers India drops after govt plans to sell stake
Engineers India Limited is coming out with Offer for Sale ( OFS) on January 29th, 2016. This issue would be available only for ONE day.
The government will sell 10% of its stake in Engineers India Ltd (EIL) on Friday, which is likely to fetch over Rs 690 crore to the Exchequer.

Dabur India Q3FY2016 results better than estimates
Dabur India (consolidated) Q3FY2016 results – better than expected operating performance.

Dabur India’s revenues grew by 2.3%yoy to Rs2127.0crore driven by 18% growth in the consumer care business.


Its tug of war on Dalal Street as the bears cash in at every bounce. The Nifty ended below 7450 ahead of January F&O expiry. The 50-share index closed up 1.60 points at 7437.75 and the Sensex was up 6.44 points at 24492.39. About 1363 shares have advanced, 1196 shares declined, and 189 shares are unchanged. NTPC, Dr Reddy's Labs, Tata Motors and Tata Steel were top gainers while BHEL, HUL, Hero MotoCorp, Adani Ports and Hindalco were losers in the Sensex. The midcaps were under pressure after most of their reported earnings missed top line expectations. 




GLOBAL MARKET
Asian stocks, barring China, closed higher mirroring a firm finish on the Wall Street after crude oil prices bounced back on prospects that OPEC and non-OPEC producers may reach a consensus to slash the output citing concerns regarding one of the largest oversupply gluts in decades.
Japan’s Nikkei, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng ended up between 1-2.6%. On the flip side, China’s Shanghai Composite extended its previous loss of 7% and closed 0.5% lower.
Meanwhile, European equities are trading under pressure ahead of the US Federal Reserve's statement due to be released later today. Meanwhile, slide in the oil prices and weak earnings added to the woes. France’s CAC40, Germany’s Dax and London’s FTSE slipped over 0.4% each. 

KEY STOCKS
Among the Sensex stocks back home, Sun Pharma gained 1% after Sun Pharma's subsidiary Sun Pharma Advanced Research Co. (SPARC) received market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India’s (Sebi) nod to raise up to Rs 250 crore via rights issue. SPARC surged 13%
NTPC emerged as the top gainer soaring over 4% ahead of its Q3 results on Friday. Meanwhile, ICICI Bank inched up ahead of the results tomorrow and HDFC shed 0.3% ahead of the results later today.
From the auto pack, Tata Motors gained 1.5% while Maruti Suzuki climbed 0.5% on reports suggesting that the company's Japanese parent Suzuki Motor Corporation is considering a wide-ranging partnership with Toyota Motor Corporation.
Some of the notable losers include BHEL, HUL, Adani Ports, Hero Motocorp and Axis Bank ending down between 1%-4%.

ITC Q3 disappoints; Net Profit below estimates
ITC has announced the following Q3 Un-Audited Standalone results for the quarter ended December 31, 2015.
Net profit gained by 0.67% to Rs2652.8 crore Vs Rs2635.00 crore.
Total Income increased by 3.49% to Rs9854.66 crore Vs Rs9524.58 crore.

Mahindra rallies on launch of smaller diesel engine
Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra finance surged over 5% to Rs1194 on NSE on launching smaller diesel engine for NCR/Delhi region – positive for the company.
Today, M&M launched its mHawk new 1.99 litre diesel engine. This would help the company overcome the impact of a recent Supreme Court decision on diesel car sales.

L&T in talks with Adani group to sell plant in Punjab
L&T is in talks with Adani group to sell its power plant in Punjab at an estimated value of around Rs3, 000 crore.
The deal would be a positive for L&T as it will monetizing its non-core asset.

Biocon Q3 consolidated net profit up 13%
Biocon has announced the following Q3 results for the quarter ended December 31, 2015 (YoY):
Standalone (YoY)
Net Profit rose by 19.54% to Rs68.50 crore Vs Rs57.30 crore.
Total Income increased by 3.28% to Rs565.30 crore Vs Rs547.50 crore.

Idea Q3 disappoints; consolidated net profit at Rs764 cr
Idea Cellular has announced the following Q3 results for the quarter ended December 31, 2015.
Standalone (YoY)
The Company has posted a net profit of Rs642.65 crore Vs Rs665.44 crore.
Total Income is at Rs8988.73 crore Vs Rs8070.81 crore.
